Nomination Form for Gannon University’s
Distinguished Alumni/ae Award


Once a year, at an annual dinner, Gannon University honors several distinguished alumni/ae. The honorees are selected based on their professional accomplishments, service to others, and Christian living. During the year, nominations may be submitted either by completing the online nomination form below or by contacting the Alumni/ae Office at (814) 871-7473 or 1-877-GU-Alums. 

Awards

A. Distinguished Alumnus Award (3 awards).
B. Young Alumnus Award (less than 40 years of age)(1 award).
C. Monsignor Wilfrid J. Nash Principles of Christian Conduct Award (1 award).

Criteria

Criteria for Distinguished and Young Alumnus Awards:

A. Exceptional achievements in one's professional career.
B. Reflection of Gannon University's ideals/mission through one's character.
C. Significant leadership in society through public, community, or church-related service.
D. Service and commitment to the University.

Criteria for Monsignor Nash Award:

A. Involved with the Catholic Church.
B. Upholding the ideals of the Catholic Church in one's life and work.
C. A history of service to others with emphasis given to individuals who have played a role in education or the foundation of schools/organizations that serve to educate others.

 

Eligibility

Eligibility for Distinguished and Young Alumnus Awards:

A. Has completed at least one semester at Gannon University or any of its predecessor educational institutions, including Villa Maria College, Gannon College, or Cathedral College
AND
B. Is not a current Gannon University faculty or staff member.

Eligibility for Monsignor Nash Award:

A. A graduate or friend of Gannon University or a predecessor institution.
B. Is not a current Gannon University faculty or staff member.
