We Wish You a Merry Christmas!
The staff members of Campus Ministry, the Center for Social Concerns and the Office of Service-Learning join me in wishing you and your loved ones a Merry Christmas and a joy-filled happy and holy holiday season! Special Message >

The Gospels of Luke and Matthew proclaim that Jesus is conceived by the Holy Spirit and born of Mary as Word made flesh and God with us. May the Holy Spirit consecrate our bodies, minds and hearts as we long to become Christ-filled men and women of love, peace and joy. We are grateful to God for your continuing relationship with Gannon and for the faith, hope and love you embody. We pray God to bless you, your family, your work and your home into the new year.

Rev. George E. Strohmeyer
University Chaplain and Acting Vice President for Mission and Ministry

Thank You for Believing in the Possibilities!
During this season of giving, Gannon offers several ways for you to support the University. Consider making a gift to Gannon of appreciated stock. Your gift is tax deductible, but you have to make your gift before Dec. 31, 2009. Similarly, to be eligible for your 2009 tax deduction, please make your gift to the Annual Fund for Academic Excellence by the end of the year.

In addition, Congress has extended the law allowing you to move money directly from IRA accounts to institutions like Gannon without triggering any tax. In fact, for those who have a limited taxable income and limited charitable deductions, they can transfer up to $100,000 from IRAs to charity this year. Contact the trustee of your IRA account to make the direct transfer before the new year.

If you have already made your gift, thank you! Your generosity helps increase student scholarship funds, support faculty research and development and improves campus facilities for an enhanced educational experience. Thank you for supporting Gannon’s dynamic faculty, staff and students!

You can still hear them here. On Page 18 of the Manufacturer and Business Association’s Business Magazine, the “Economic Spotlight” includes commentary from Dr. Garibaldi on how Gannon has adjusted its business operations for continued success during these challenging economic times.
