Spring Gannon Magazine Available
A review of the women's basketball team's historic season, the story of one student missionary, a tribute to the Sisters of St. Joseph—all this and more can be found in the latest issue of Gannon Magazine, arriving in mailboxes this month. The publication has also partnered with the Council for Advancement and Support of Education (CASE) to conduct a magazine readership survey. Hall of Fame Nominations Now Online
Nominations for the Gannon Athletics Hall of Fame are now being accepted through Gannon’s athletics Web site. The deadline for the Class of 2011 nominations is July 31. The last class of inductees increased the Gannon Athletics Hall of Fame membership to 37. Read more > 

Commencement Celebrates Graduates 

Gannon President Antoine M. Garibaldi, Ph.D., conferred 758 degrees during Spring Commencement on May 8. Including graduates from December, Gannon University had a graduating class of 1,067 for the 2009-10 Academic Year. Read more >

Summer Camps Offer Scholarships
From trips on Gannon's own research vessel, the Environaut (more here), to engineering workshops featuring Gannon students (more here) and a football camp with NFL star Bob Sanders (more here), opportunities for summer learning abound at Gannon. Delta Chi, Pikes to Reunite
Members of two Gannon University fraternities will reunite this summer for fellowship and fun. A series of weekend events are planned for Delta Chi (July 9-11) and Pi Kappa Alpha (July 29-Aug. 1). Shakespeare Summer Nights Returns
All alumni and friends are invited to campus to attend the seventh annual Alumni Picnic and Shakespeare Summer Nights performance. This year’s performance, The Taming of the Shrew, will be held July 24 in the Morosky Academic Center's Courtyard Cafe (150 W. 10th St.). The picnic begins at 6 p.m. Online registration >

MBA Program Celebrates 40 Years 
Join Dr. David Frew, Dr. David Eichelsdorfer, business school faculty and students and alumni from all years for the 40th anniversary celebration of the Master of Business Administration (MBA) Program. Alumni from all years are invited to attend, like Seth Morton ’73M, who recently posted his thoughts about Gannon’s MBA program on LinkedIn: “Earning an MBA from Gannon University required tremendous effort, and the skills I picked up have never left me.” Homecoming schedule > 

Gannon in the News
Read all about it! Gannon University is a newsmaker, in Erie and beyond. President Antoine M. Garibaldi, Ph.D., was quoted in an article in the May 3 issue of the Washington Post. The heartwarming acts of a Gannon student were profiled in his hometown newspaper after he returned to his high school prom for a very special reason. And two GU students, Katie Demetriadis and Lauren Myrick, are blogging about their experiences while studying abroad in Jordan this summer. Living Our Faith
Twelve Gannon University students started their summer break by embracing community service and volunteerism. Seven students made a service trip to Washington, D.C., and five traveled to Vanceburg, Ky. Both groups traveled during the second week in May. Read more >

Every Alum Has a Story
Walter T. Kalista Jr., DMD '66, currently an assistant professor in the prosthodontic department in the School of Dental Medicine at the University of Pittsburgh, says he fell in love with his chosen career field after just  a few days on Gannon's campus. "Gannon laid down the foundation for my education and helped me get to where I am today professionally and personally," he said. Read more >

A crowd of more than 125 alumni and friends participated in the 23rd annual Erie Golf Outing, held May 27 at Lake Shore Country Club. A day of fun and camaraderie was enjoyed by all, and featured special guest Cleve Wright, head women’s basketball coach.
