Distinguished Alumni Announced
All alumni are invited to help Gannon honor five individuals at the University’s annual Distinguished Alumni Dinner, to be held at 6 p.m. on Oct. 22 in the Yehl Room, Waldron Campus Center (124 West 7th St.). Honorees this year include: Francis J. Lunger ’68 – College of Engineering and Business; Richard E. Griffith ’70 – College of Humanities, Education, and Social Sciences; Michael F. Hagerty, M.D. ’78 – Morosky College of Health Professions and Sciences; Carl R. Hoegerl, D.O. ’97 – Young Alumni Award; Sister James Francis Mulligan, S.S.J. ’47VMC – Monsignor Wilfrid J. Nash Principles of Christian Conduct Award.
Need Help with Post-Graduate Plans?
Join us on campus on Oct. 5 from 10 a.m.-1 p.m. in the Waldron Campus Center. Representatives from over 50 graduate and professional schools will be on hand to answer any questions you have concerning these higher education options. The event is open to all students and alumni.

After a successful event last year in Pittsburgh, Gannon is All Over Cleveland on Nov. 3 to spread the word about all the University has to offer. You can help by attending a networking event to speak with prospective students or show your GU pride by wearing maroon and gold that day!

Attend the Gannon University Fall Open House on Nov. 7 to learn about all of Gannon’s degree programs and campus life. Alumni Invited to Job Fair
Are you looking for a job? If so, Gannon University’s Office of Career Development and Employment Services encourages you to attend the WestPACS Fall Job Fair on Nov. 3 from 10 a.m.-3 p.m. at the Monroeville (Pa.) Convention Center. Participants can register online to guarantee a discounted admission of $5 (cash only). Walk-in registration the day of the fair is $10.

Read all about it! Gannon University is a newsmaker, in Erie and beyond. The Erie Times-News had a lot to say about Gannon recently, including the University’s receipt of a
prestigious Student Support Services grant. A Gannon biology professor’s
research of bats made the news as well, and a local television station’s report of a
University biodiesel project reached a national audience when it aired on every Nexstar Broadcasting station.

Living Our Faith
More than 230 people celebrated Opening Mass of the Holy Spirit on Sept. 9, an annual service designed to bless the University community at the beginning of a new Academic Year. This year’s Mass also included a special recognition of the Sisters of St. Joseph of Northwestern Pennsylvania and the blessing of an icon written to honor the Sisters as they celebrate 150 years of service to the Erie Diocese.
