Crowd Breaks Homecoming Record
Thanks to all who made 2010 Alumni Homecoming & Reunion Weekend a great time to re-u-knight! 685 alumni registered for the event, making it the largest crowd to date. Check Out GU at Open House
Want to learn more about Gannon? You’re invited to attend one of two Fall Open Houses: Nov. 7 for undergraduate programs and Nov. 16 to learn about graduate programs. Faculty and administration, including representatives from financial aid, will be on hand both days to answer questions.

Distinguished Alumni Honored
Gannon honored five individuals at the University’s annual Distinguished Alumni Dinner, held during this year’s homecoming celebration. Honorees included: Francis J. Lunger ’68; Richard E. Griffith ’70; Michael F. Hagerty, M.D. ’78; Carl R. Hoegerl, D.O. ’97; and Sister James Francis Mulligan, S.S.J. ’47VMC.

Alumni Executive Shares Experience
Ben C. Askew Jr., Ph.D. ’83, vice president of research and global head of NCE Technologies at the biotechnology company EMD Serono, returned to campus in September as one of Gannon’s Executive on Campus speakers. During his day-long stay, Askew hosted a breakfast and a luncheon discussion and visited with students. Watch the video >

The Fall 2010 breakfast meeting of the Business Ambassadors was held on Oct. 14 in Gannon’s Erie Technology Incubator with a presentation from Executive Director Russ Combs and several client companies. More about Business Ambassadors >

Join Us as Gannon is All Over Cleveland
On Nov. 3, join the University as “Gannon is All Over Cleveland” from 6-8 p.m. at the Shoreby Club. Attendees will be able to meet with Dr. Garibaldi as well as a number of Gannon faculty, staff and administrators. Read more >

Alumni Invited to Job Fair
Are you looking for a job? If so, Gannon’s Office of Career Development and Employment Services encourages you to attend the WestPACS Fall Job Fair on Nov. 3 from 10 a.m.-3 p.m. at the Monroeville (Pa.) Convention Center. Participants can register online to guarantee a discounted admission of $5 (cash only). Walk-in registration is $10. Read more >

Jordanian Professor to Lecture
Dr. Moawiyah H. Ibrahim will be the speaker this year in the Collins Institute for Archaeological Research Annual Lecture Series on Nov. 15 at 7 p.m. in Zurn Science Center, Room 104. Dr. Ibrahim is a renowned archaeologist and is Jordan’s representative to UNESCO’s World Heritage Committee. The lecture is titled: “World Heritage and Cultural Diversity in Jordan.”

Students Camp Out for Awareness
Students and faculty will spend time in a Box City on campus on Nov. 18 to raise funds for and awareness of homelessness in Erie. The campaign, which will take place from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. in A.J.’s Way with a prayer service at noon, is part of Gannon’s observance of Hunger and Homelessness Awareness Week. Shop for a Cause
On Dec. 3 from 9 a.m.-2 p.m. in Waldron Campus Center, Room 219, you'll have a chance to do some early Christmas shopping for a good cause at the University's Fair Trade Sale. Crafts, gifts and decorations from artisans around the world--along with coffee and chocolate--will be available. Proceeds will be divided among Serrv International in partnership with Catholic Relief Services and Gannon's Alternative Break Service Trip program.
Student-Athletes to Host Talent Show
Gannon’s Student-Athlete Advisory Committee (SAAC) would like to invite all alumni and friends to the second annual student-athlete talent show, "Knights Got Talent," on Dec. 5 at 5 p.m. Admission is free; several raffles will be held, including an iPod Touch, $75 Millcreek Mall gift certificate, and a $25 gas card. All proceeds will go toward Make-A-Wish. Christmas Dinner to Help Needy
On Dec. 5, Gannon’s Social Work Club will host its annual Christmas Dinner and Wellness Fair from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. in the Hammermill Center (620 Peach St.) The event provides a hot meal and social service agency information. Additionally, the Club has partnered with the Community Outreach Group to provide clothing distribution on Dec. 4 at Cauley Auditorium (215 E. 4th St.) from 10 a.m.-2 p.m. 
2011 Athletics Hall of Fame Announced 
This January, several inductees are slated to be welcomed into Gannon University’s Athletics Hall of Fame. Honorees will be recognized following the women’s (1 p.m.) and men’s (3 p.m.) basketball doubleheader against California (Pa.) on Jan. 22. 

Students Host Cooking Show
Gannon students are cooking up something fun in MC Gensheimer’s Video Pre-Production and Performance class. The group has produced and filmed a series of television cooking shows designed for a college lifestyle. Watch the video >

Are You Online? GU Is!
Gannon has enhanced its online presence with several social networking sites, including Facebook and LinkedIn. Join in the conversations like Robert Rowe ’75, who wrote: “Congratulations to GU for expanding the biology program. I’ve used the knowledge I gained at Gannon throughout my career and I attribute my success to the great foundation Gannon provided me.”

President Participates in Outreach 
President Antoine M. Garibaldi, Ph.D., recently participated in the Joint Civilian Orientation Conference, the Department of Defense’s oldest outreach program. It is designed to increase public understanding of national defense through observation of U.S. military services. Read more >

Jane Earll featured Gannon’s Erie Technology Incubator in her latest TV show, while the latest issue of Faith magazine from the Diocese of Erie profiles the 2009-2010 men's basketball team's volunteer work at the Sisters of St. Joseph's annual Thanksgiving Dinner. Living Our Faith
For the second time, Gannon will host the Sisters of St. Joseph’s annual Thanksgiving Dinner for individuals who are alone, in need or otherwise will not celebrate the holiday. A free dinner will be available in the Waldron Campus Center, 124 West Seventh St., on Nov. 25 from 11 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. Read more >
