You’re Invited: Presidential Inauguration
Mark your calendars and plan to join us as Gannon University celebrates the inauguration of its seventh president, Keith Taylor, Ph.D. Several days of festivities are planned for Nov. 3-5, 2011. The weekend’s theme will highlight Catholic service and civic engagement and will feature a discussion forum, service experience and more. Stay tuned for further details.
New Residence Hall Open House
Join us during Alumni Homecoming Reunion & Family Weekend on Sept. 24 at 10:15 a.m. as we formally bless the newest residence hall on campus, North Hall, located at 143 W. Fourth St. Tours of the facility will be available.

Alumni Soccer Games in August
You're invited to the 2011 Gannon University women’s and men’s Alumni Soccer Games, Aug. 27, 2011. The women's game will start at 5 p.m. with the men's game to follow at 7 p.m. There will be a pregame gathering at Gannon University Field, located between West Fourth and Fifth streets on Sassafras Street, starting at 4 p.m. A postgame reception will be held at Calamari's Squid Row, 1317 State St., after both games. Preview GU Coming Soon
Preview GU, a weekend-long schedule of events in the four days preceding the start of the 2011-12 Academic Year, will kick off on Aug. 20 with freshman move-in. New students will be able to meet their fellow students, settle in to their residence halls, talk to their adviser, become more familiar with campus and the Erie area--and more!

Police & Safety Relaunch Bike Patrol
The Office of Campus Police and Safety has launched a bike patrol unit to enhance community policing efforts. Benefits include more contact between officers and the community and easier access to some areas. Officers Kristen Bergquist and Christopher O’Connell will patrol the campus area daily.

Network. Family, friends, neighbors, current or former bosses/coworkers, classmates, teammates and acquaintances can all be helpful in developing job leads. To increase your network, attend business or professional meetings or volunteer at events where you can interact with people from area businesses. Set a goal of meeting three new people at each event. Conduct informational interviews with people in your career field. Establish an online presence by joining LinkedIn.
