A Walk Down Erie’s Memory Lane
In their book, Italian Americans of Greater Erie, Mary Lou Scottino '74, Dr. Sandra Lee and Norma Palandra Webb have collected 150 years worth of pictures chronicling the Italian American experience in the Erie community. Support Gannon Performing Arts
The annual fundraiser for the Alex Clemente Fund for the Performing and Related Arts at Gannon University will be held Friday, Mar. 9. This year's performance of "The Glorious Ones," a musical by Lynn Ahrens and Stephen Flaherty, is directed by Almi Clerkin ’85 and features Gannon alumni including professors Fr. There’s still time to register for the fourth annual W.I.L.D. (Women in Leadership Development) Conference, hosted by Gannon University’s Small Business Development Center. Gannon Women's Basketball Nationally Ranked
The Lady Knights basketball team continues to climb in national ranking.  As of Jan. 31, the Gannon women are ranked No. 20 in the USA Today ESPN Top 25 Coaches Poll with a 16-3 overall record, 13-2 in conference play. Read more >

There's Still Time to Apply
High School Seniors:
It’s not too late to apply. Gannon operates on a rolling admissions basis. In addition to applying, sending high school transcripts and SAT or ACT scores, students should also work with their families to file the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA).

Find Out More about Financial Aid
Gannon will host a financial aid workshop at 6:30 p.m. Thursday, Feb. 16 in room 1200 of the Palumbo Academic Center, 824 Peach St. The workshop is free and open to the public and will include an overview of the entire financial aid process, including definitions of common terms, an explanation of the various aid programs available and a step-by-step review of the questions on the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA). Job Search Tips from Career Services
Develop a professional presentation. Invest in a business suit (navy blue or charcoal gray) and portfolio case to carry your documents. Be prepared to communicate information in an effective manner (voice tone, grammar, posture, eye contact, listening skills). Demonstrate enthusiasm for the job and the company. Be sure to research the company prior to the interview. Be aware of your online footprint, i.e. what is your public image on Facebook, blogs, etc.? Make sure your email address and voicemail greeting do not draw any negative attention. Use formal communications when sending emails or texts. Career Services >

Read all about it! Gannon University is a newsmaker, in Erie and beyond. Jessica Badach Hubert, assistant director of the Gannon Center for Social Concerns, was one of the inaugural recipients of an award based on service to the community and volunteerism. Dr. David Kozak, who long has been sought after as an interviewee on all things political and presidential, recently was quoted in a Wall Street Journal article on Ron Paul. Living Our Faith
This year’s Thomas J. and Mary H. Loftus Lecture on Catholic Thought and Action, The Coherence of Catholic Social Teaching: A Framework for the Global Economic Crisis, was presented by Todd David Whitmore, Ph.D., Associate Professor of Theology at the University of Notre Dame.  The standing-room-only crowd learned about their rights and duties in our national and world economies.  Pictured: Dr. Whitmore (l) with Thomas '56 and Mary Loftus.

GU Knights vs. Mercyhurst Basketball Reception

Who has Gannon spirit? We do! All alumni and guests, season ticket holders, and Gannon Golden Knight Athletic Booster Club members who attend the home basketball game on Feb. 15 (vs. Mercyhurst) will be invited to a complimentary pizza party reception hosted by the Athletic Boosters and the Alumni Association at 7 p.m., directly after the women’s game (start time 5:30 p.m.) and before the men’s game (start time 7:30 p.m.) on both days.  A reception RSVP is not required, just attend the women's and men's basketball games at the Hammermill Center and listen for the pizza party announcement.  Questions?
