Alumni Association Welcomes New Exec Board

Dana Kennedy Fallon, Esq. ’91
PRESIDENT
A 1991 graduate of Gannon with a degree in psychology and a minor in marketing, Dana Kennedy Fallon, Esq. ’91 is currently the assistant director of alumni services at George Mason University School of Law in Arlington, Va., where she is a 1999 graduate of the law school. In addition to her Juris Doctor degree, she also holds a master’s degree from Kent State University in higher education administration. She has been a member of the Virginia State Bar since 1999.
While at Gannon, Dana was a member of the Student Government Association, was elected to its executive board and was a resident advisor. Her fellow students honored her as the Student Government Association Outstanding Class Representative for three years, and she also received the Bruno Scacchitti Award.
Through her involvement with the Student Government Association, Activities Programming Board, Residence Life and other organizations, Dana developed her passion for higher education and student development. She had the opportunity to begin her career before graduating, as she acted as the interim director of the Evening and Summer School Programs during her senior year while a search was conducted for a full-time director. After receiving her master’s degree, she returned to higher education as the assistant director of Residence Life at Marymount University in Arlington, Va., where she also served as the director of the Freshmen Women’s Residence Hall and the advisor for Student Council. In 1995, Dana was named the Outstanding New
Professional of the Year by the Virginia Association of College and University Housing Officers.
Ritzert & Leyton, P.C. offered Dana an associate position during her third year of law school, which she accepted, remaining with the firm for ten years and becoming a partner. While at Ritzert & Leyton, she focused her practice on advising institutions of higher education regarding compliance with accreditation standards and state and federal laws. She has published numerous articles in national magazines on legal topics relevant to higher education, in addition to offering presentations at various regional, state and national education association conferences.
Continuing her involvement with Gannon, in January 2003 Dana became active with the National Alumni Association (NAA) as the Washington, D.C., regional director. During her tenure, she has coordinated numerous events, surveyed alumni regarding their interests in alumni events, and has been instrumental in the changes to the NAA bylaws. On October 7, 2005, she was voted in as a director of the NAA. Subsequently, she was elected vice president and, at the group’s annual meeting in 2009, was elected president. She will serve in this role for the next two years.
Dana is originally from Buffalo, N.Y., and currently lives in Arlington, Va., with her husband, Mark.
Brian C. Fargo ’71
VICE PRESIDENT
Brian Fargo ’71 is vice chairman, chief financial and chief compliance officer and partner in Capri Capital Partners, LLC, a Chicago-based real estate investment and advisory firm with $4.2 billion in real estate investments, located across the United States, under management on behalf of pension funds and institutional investors.
Prior to joining Capri in 1994, Brian was vice-president and department head of regional real estate finance with Dai-Ichi Kangyo Bank, Ltd. Brian also previously worked with JMB Realty Corporation and Urban Investment and Development Company, holding positions as manager of accounting, director of cash management, treasurer and vice president of project finance. Brian is a member of the Urban Land Institute, the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants and the Illinois CPA Society.
Brian earned a bachelor of science degree in business administration from Gannon in 1971. He went on to earn an MBA degree from the University of Chicago with concentrations in finance and international business. He has been the vice president of finance for the Primo Center for Women and Children in Chicago for the past 10 years and is a member of the Shedd Aquarium Advisory Council. He is past chairman of the board for Felines, Inc., a no-kill shelter for cats.
Brian lives in Chicago with his wife, Susan, and their cat, Gracie.
Scott Krall ’84
SECRETARY
Scott Krall ’84 is employed by the H.J. Heinz Company as global sustainability and operations risk manager. Scott provides leadership support in all areas of operational risk management for 78 facilities across 23 countries, addressing issues related to environmental management, employee health and safety, business continuity management, facility security/food defense and asset conservation management.
A sampling of Scott’s previous accomplishments at Heinz include: development of an environmental management system for Heinz North American Business Unit; establishment of a sustainability process, including requirements and a scorecard to address published sustainability goals; advancing the company’s Carbon Disclosure Project rating from 17 in 2007 to 91 in 2008; and numerous state awards for waste reduction and stewardship programs related to facility environmental management systems.
Most recently he has focused on managing a sustainability process to support nine publicly disclosed goals related to energy and water reduction, recycling and carbon foot printing of the company’s supply chain.
Scott lives in Pittsburgh, Pa., with his wife, Shelley, and sons, Timothy and Drew.
