An Erie native, Carl Carlotti has been actively engaged in supporting his hometown and community in a variety of endeavors.

Carl Carlotti earned his degree in political science from Gannon University and a law degree from the University Of Dayton School Of Law in 1980. He was a deputy solicitor for the City of Erie from 1980 until 1984, during Mayor Louis J. Tullio’s term.

Carlotti joined National Fuel Gas Distribution Corporation in early 1985 as a staff attorney and became president of the company in February 2016. National Fuel Gas Distribution Corporation is a public utility serving over 740,000 customers in Western New York and Northwestern Pennsylvania with its headquarters in Williamsville, NY. Carlotti retired from National Fuel Gas in February of this year.

The majority of Carl Carlotti’s career was spent in Erie during which time he served on the board of numerous non-profit organizations. He is former chairperson of the following: Saint Vincent Health System, United Way of Erie County, Erie Regional Chamber and Growth Partnership and past president of the Erie County Bar Association. Carlotti served on the board of directors of the Greater Erie Community Action Committee (GECAC), the Boys and Girls Club, Erie Chapter of the American Red Cross, Western Pennsylvania Port Authority, Boy Scouts of America, French Creek Council, the International Institute, Erie Senior Citizens Center, Greater Erie Eye and Organ Bank and Emergycare.

At the state level, Carlotti is the past president of the Energy Association of Pennsylvania and is a current member of the Pennsylvania Chamber of Business and Industry. In 2003, the Giuseppe Mazzini Civic Association named Carlotti “Man of the Year.” In 2016, he was the American Cancer Society’s Erie Premiere Event Honoree.

Carlotti has been married 31 years to the former Michele Markey, who graduated from Gannon University with a Masters in Public Administration in 1994. The Carlottis have two daughters, Taylor and Paige; a granddaughter, Carly, and another grandchild on the way
