Danielle King '16
Nutrition and Human Performance
Like many recent Gannon alumni, Danielle is currently in graduate school. She is pursuing her goal of becoming a Registered Dietitian Nutritionist and looks forward to having a career in a clinical setting. Her studies are at D’Youville College in Buffalo and she is open to relocating once she finishes her graduate degree. She is excited to see where her education takes her and exhibits a strong work ethic and can-do attitude that will undoubtedly take her far in life.
Danielle was part of a small, tight-knit program at Gannon. She was encouraged to get involved in a diverse array of activities and organizations and she took that advice to heart, eventually becoming President of Phi Sigma Sigma, a member of Lambda Sigma National Honor Society, a member of the Order of Omega Greek Honor Society and a participant in an ABST (Alternative Break Service Trip) to Guatemala through Gannon’s Center for Social Concerns. Naturally, one of her favorite memories from her time at Gannon was being named Homecoming Queen during her senior year.
Crediting Gannon with her expanded interests, Danielle encourages new students to also get involved. She feels that a “must do” activity at Gannon is to attend the fall activities fair. There students can attend a showcase of all student activities, meet other students and begin building relationships. Danielle continues her advice by saying, “Never refuse to take a chance because of where it may lead you. Even as an alumnus, continue to stay connected to your Gannon family by returning to campus for networking events, student mentoring and of course, Homecoming weekend…you never know what opportunity may arise.”
