Edward Curley '86

Bachelor of Science, accounting

Edward Curley graduated from Gannon in 1986 with a Bachelor of Science degree in Accounting with honors. He formed many lifelong friendships with fellow students and faculty while at Gannon. Upon graduation he remained in Erie for two years, working at the former Marine Bank. He then left Erie to pursue a Master of Business Administration at the University of Notre Dame. Curley graduated in 1989, with high honors, and began his career with Ford Motor Company in Michigan.

Now manager of Global Profit Analysis for Ford’s Customer Service Division, Curley has held many other titles within Ford Finance over the years, including two international service assignments in England and Australia. According to Curley, the education and experiences he enjoyed at Gannon and Notre Dame prepared him well for the world of international business.

Curley admits he has been lucky to work with, and travel to, many countries and business segments within Ford. He has also worked with some of Ford’s many joint ventures in India, Japan and China. He was able to leverage what he learned at Gannon as he advanced through multiple management positions in Product Development, International Operations, IT, Marketing and Sales and Corporate Strategy.

Prior to having children, Curley and his wife Paula were able to take leaves of absence from Ford to spend a year travelling the world. Together, they visited more than 20 countries and met many incredible people.

The Curleys now have three children, Katie, Connor and Ned. Curley has always been active in his local parish, serving as an usher. He is a member of the Knights of Columbus in his present parish of St. John Neumann in Plymouth, Michigan. He actively participates in the religious education of his three children and supports the local Catholic Youth Organization.
