Rev. Nettie V. Smith '79

Nettie V. Smith has dedicated her life to working for the disenfranchised. A licensed minister, she is also the executive director for the PartnerSHIP for a Healthy Community, an affiliate agency with the Pennsylvania Department of Health. Her daily initiative is to continue to positively impact the greater Erie community.

While at Gannon, Nettie was able to experience the diversity of the student body and receive an education that would prepare her for success upon entering the job market. Though she worked full-time, Nettie was still heavily involved in the Upward Bound and the C.A.A.P. Program. “I was able to easily transition into the work community, as well as the acceptance of adult responsibilities due to the well-rounded education that I have received,” Nettie mentions.
