Robert W. McGee, Ph.D., Esq. '69

Social Science

Robert W. McGee graduated from Gannon University in 1969 with a Bachelor Degree in Social Science. He would continue on to earn a total of 13 doctorate degrees from various universities across the United States and Europe in areas including politics, law, economics, accounting and finance. He holds countless certificates, and is a certified public accountant, bank auditor, cost analyst and management accountant, among others.

Currently, Dr. McGee is an associate professor of accounting at Fayetteville State University in North Carolina, though he has over 40 years of experience in the fields of accounting, tax law, education, consulting, and banking. Over his career, he has serviced several large clients, including the United States Agency for International Development, the World Bank, the African Development Bank, and even the Central Intelligence Agency. During his time with the USAID, Dr. McGee was a part of many Accounting Reform programs and was placed in charge of assisting the Finance Ministry in Armenia to convert the country to International Financial Reporting Standards, reforming the accounting curriculum at all the major universities in Armenia and Bosnia, and drafting the accounting law for Armenia and Bosnia. He even had the opportunity to review the accounting law for Mozambique.

Aside from his busy professional career, Dr. McGee has authored and published 58 nonfiction books and hundreds of scholarly articles. His research can be found inside numerous journals, including the Journal of Business Ethics, the Harvard International Law Journal, the Harvard Journal of Law & Public Policy, and the Stanford Journal of International Law. He is also working on several novels and has authored Justifiable Homicide: A Political Thriller.

Aside of all of Dr. McGee’s accomplishments, he is an avid martial artist and has competed in karate tournaments across the country in both Taekwondo and Shukokai styles, winning a total of 18 gold medals.
